The Love of Death
There once was a girl who dreamed of such love,
She found what she wanted on wings of a dove.
Into the ground she cradled her head,
Thinking of times when she would be wed.
Only when moon would graze the water,
Would her true love be there to watch her.
She danced at the thought of being celebrated,
And clung to her love with feelings mutated.
Along came the ghost of evil once past,
And persuaded her love into tempest fast.
The ground she walked upon faded in shame,
And no longer could she carry his name.
She wept in the well that she found in the hill,
And carried his child twice more though the mill.
Death then found her in the well,
And it took its place upon her veil.
It croaked and shouted and laughed with glee,
Proclaiming its love there for thee.
She accepted here and took her fate,
And left loves once child there with hate.
She now resides in hells deaths door,
And wonders why nevermore.
